Reaching new segments of our community with the gospel through creation of fellowships designed to meet them at their point of greatest need.
What does it take to start a new church?
There are two types of pain: the pain of front-end discipline and the pain of back-end regret. With the question of strategy development, you get to choose which pain you’d rather live with.
No need to begin until the call comes. Church planting is difficult in itself, but impossible without the calling of the Lord on your life. That calling only comes through intimacy with the Lord. Jesus said, "I will build My church."
There is nothing new in church planting. The same things that have planted churches for centuries continue to be true. Fortunately the Association has people trained in the process that has been tried and proven worthy.
There are very few things in life that are more difficult than planting a new church. The key is perseverance of those involved. Steady wins the race in ministry. A willingness to wait upon the Lord as you continue to serve is essential.
The Association is uniquely situated in the life of a church start. It has the ability to network the talents and gifts of other member churches. But it also is close enough to walk with the new work regularly providing encouragement and support.
let's Get started?
Catawba Valley Baptist Church is committed to starting new churches to reach new segments of our community with the gospel through creation of fellowships designed to meet them at their point of greatest need.
There are seven support networks in the Association - Family, Discipleship, Missions, Worship, ministration, Media and Prayer. We realize that each church is unique in the Kingdom. Therefore each network is trained to provide support for strengthening, sustaining and starting churches.
